EL PASO, Texas — Voters across El Paso County can cast a ballot Tuesday at any of 123 Election Day vote centers, no matter which precinct they live in, for the November general and special election.
Doors open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. The El Paso County Elections Department held early voting from Oct. 19 through Oct. 30. The ballot each voter sees depends on the address where they are registered, and races run from federal contests down to local offices and propositions.
The county election website includes a tool called My Voter Dashboard. Voters can use it to confirm they are registered and eligible, look back at their voting history and pull up a sample ballot tailored to them. Logging in takes a first name, last name and either a date of birth or a Voter Unique Identifier. The same site lists every vote center along with current wait times, and people can search by map or by ZIP code. The department also offers a mobile app that finds the nearest countywide vote center.
Anyone voting in person has to show one of the seven forms of photo identification accepted under Texas law. A voter who does not have one and cannot reasonably get one can sign a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polling site and show a supporting document instead.
Voters who asked for a mail ballot but would rather vote in person need to bring that ballot along and surrender it. Without it, they will be given a provisional ballot.
Mail ballots in envelopes without a postmark must reach the Early Voting Clerk by 7 p.m. Tuesday. Ballots postmarked by 7 p.m. Tuesday count if they arrive by 5 p.m. Wednesday. People who would rather not trust the mail can carry their own ballot in person on Tuesday. The Elections Department office is in Suite 314 at 500 E. San Antonio Ave., and a curbside drop-off is set up on Campbell Street, next to the Enrique Moreno County Courthouse.
